Colon Cleansing Made Easy

Colon Cleansing Overview

Colon is the last portion of our digestive system. Its main purpose is to extract water and salt from the waste products before being eliminated from our body. The accumulation of toxic products in this part is believed to result in various disorders such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux, arthritis, allergies and asthma. Removal of the toxic products or their remnants from the colon with different colon cleansing methods can promote the growth of healthy bacteria, boost the energy and even enhance the body’s defence system (referred to as immune system). Long term constipation can lead to expansion of the bowel which may result in symptoms such as headache, tiredness and loss of appetite. Colon cleansing procedure is beneficial in relieving these symptoms. Doctors use colon cleansing procedures prior to performing surgeries related to the colon.

Colon Cleansing Made Easy!

There are two main methods for colon cleansing. They are:
  • Colon hydrotherapy
  • Oral cleansing agents
Colon hydrotherapy can either be performed by you with colon cleansing kits or by a professional clinic involved in colon care and colon cleansing. The colon hydrotherapy is nothing but an enema to inject water with the help of special equipment. At times some beneficial herbs may also be added to the colon cleansing water. Numerous colon cleansing kits are available in the market which helps you to perform the colon cleansing. Some amount of initial expertise may be required to cleanse your colon. Professional clinics or spas also have colon cleansing as a part of their body detoxification plans. If you are unsure of self cleansing then it is better you obtain professional help. Colon hydrotherapy is also known as colon irrigation procedure.

Oral cleansing agents include herbal preparations, fibrous food substances, certain dietary supplements or medicines referred to as laxatives. These agents act in different ways to cleanse the colon. They may either add bulk to the stools or increase the movement of the stool within the colon to help in complete elimination. Most of these agents are advised to be taken before going to bed at night. This method of colon cleansing does not require any expertise as with colon hydrotherapy.
